1. Mosi2 rod heating element is a kind of resistance heating element with high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance and low aging based on molybdenum disilicide.When used in high temperature oxidation atmosphere, a layer of bright and compact quartz (SiO2) glass film is formed on the surface, which can protect the inner layer of si-mo rod from oxidation, so the element of si-mo rod has unique high temperature oxidation resistance.

Under the oxidizing atmosphere, the maximum operating temperature of tube furnace Mosi2 Rod is 1800, the resistance of the heating element of silicon molybdenum rod increases rapidly with the temperature increasing, and the resistance value is stable when the temperature is constant.Under normal conditions, the resistance of elements does not change with the service time, so the new and old elements can be mixed.

How to replace Heating Element MoSi2
If there is a damaged part found in the process of operation, the first thing you should do is determine its location and get all the combination elements ready. After that, you should separate the wire the damaged element clipped to from the screw which is connected to the generatrix. Then remove the remained refractory wool and pull out the refractory stoppers. Insert the new combination elements into the furnace from its roof. Connect all the wires and get the refractory wool filled, and finally raise the temperature.

Oxygen-resistance under high temperature: in oxidizing atmosphere, a layer of compact quartz protective film is formed on the surface of element owing to the high temperature combustion, which prevent Mosi2 from oxidizing more. When the element temperature is higher than 1700 °C, the film becomes melting. It’s not suitable for long time use in the temperature range of 400-700°C, otherwise, the element will be powdering for the strong oxidation under low temperature.
